Al Amana Centre is the legacy of 120 years of medical and educational work done by representatives from the Reformed Church in America. Since 1987, the Centre’s work has focused on building bridges of understanding between people of different faiths, religions, and cultures.
The Centre is located in the former house of Drs. Thoms and Bosch in the heart of Muttrah. It primarily offers programs and courses for guests who wish to engage people of another religion in a safe and hospitable manner. The Centre also assists with special projects at the request of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
Al Amana Centre is also involved in ecumenical Christian work. It is the secretariat for the Gulf Church Fellowship, a gathering of Christian leaders that meets periodically throughout the year to offer each other support and share best practices.
Oman is a wonderful place to show that it is possible for people of different religious traditions to live peacefully together. Al Amana is committed to fostering this peace here and throughout the world.
